Dr Faheem Ilyas BVSc MRCVS

Founder and Lead Surgeon, Airo Veterinary Services

Airo Veterinary Services was founded by Dr Faheem Ilyas to provide personal, experienced BOAS surgical support through local veterinary practices. By working directly with primary care teams, Airo aims to make BOAS assessment, surgery and recovery support accessible for suitable brachycephalic patients while maintaining continuity with the veterinary practice owners already know and trust.

With experience in small animal surgery and a particular interest in brachycephalic airway disease, Dr Faheem has built Airo around a personal, professional and practical approach — supporting practices with assessment, surgery and aftercare, while supporting owners with clear communication, realistic expectations and structured recovery guidance.

How Airo works

Experienced BOAS Surgeon

Most vets in general practice rarely perform BOAS surgery. Since the start of 2025, Dr Faheem has performed 95+ BOAS procedures for brachycephalic patients, focused on helping appropriately selected dogs breathe more comfortably and enjoy a better quality of life.

Collaborative Approach

Working closely with the primary care veterinary team before, during and after surgery to support continuity of care.

Evidence-Led, Owner-Centred Care

Combining clinical assessment, case discussion and clear communication with owners to ensure each dog's surgical needs are considered individually.

Clear Communication

Simple explanations for owners and concise clinical handovers for veterinary teams.

WhatsApp Aftercare with an RVN

Seven days of daily WhatsApp check-ins from an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse — taking the post-op load off practices and giving owners a direct, responsive line through the critical recovery period.
