Airo Veterinary Services

For Veterinary Practices

A reliable, experienced BOAS surgical partner — working alongside your team, at your practice.

Dr Faheem Ilyas BVSc MRCVS

A surgical partner who fits your practice

Airo Veterinary Services provides experienced BOAS surgical support directly at your practice. Dr Faheem Ilyas works alongside your team — not instead of them. Your clients remain your clients. Your relationship with the owner is preserved throughout the process.

Airo handles the surgical component, the pre-operative workup discussion and the first seven days of post-operative check-ins. You retain continuity of care and the long-term client relationship.

What working with Airo looks like

On-site surgery at your practice

Dr Faheem comes to your practice to perform BOAS procedures — no need to refer patients out to distant specialist centres, and no travel for the owner.

Keep the case, the revenue and the client

The case stays on your books. You retain the surgical revenue, the long-term client relationship and the follow-up care — Airo's role is purely as your visiting surgical partner.

Collaborative approach

Dr Faheem works closely with your team before, during and after surgery to ensure seamless clinical handovers.

Genuinely experienced in BOAS

Most vets in general practice rarely perform BOAS surgery. Dr Faheem has performed 95+ procedures since the start of 2025, with a focused, evidence-led approach.

WhatsApp aftercare included

Seven days of daily WhatsApp check-ins with the owner from an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse — taking the post-op load off your team entirely.

Clear communication

Concise clinical handovers and structured pre-operative case discussion to keep your team fully informed.

Flexible scheduling

Surgical dates arranged to suit your practice's theatre availability and patient caseload.

Appropriate case selection

Dr Faheem takes a careful approach to case selection — surgery is only recommended where clinical assessment supports a meaningful benefit.

Suitable cases for referral

BOAS surgery through Airo is suitable for brachycephalic patients where clinical signs suggest significant airway compromise and where surgical intervention is considered likely to improve quality of life. Dr Faheem is happy to discuss any case informally before a formal referral is made.

Cases that may be suitable include:

  • Dogs with clinically significant BOAS signs (audible raspy breathing, exercise intolerance, sleep disturbance, regurgitation)
  • Dogs where conservative management has not provided sufficient relief
  • Dogs where owner and clinician agree that surgical assessment is appropriate
  • Previous BOAS surgery patients requiring further assessment or revision (case-by-case basis)

Cases that may not be suitable:

  • Dogs with significant concurrent health conditions that increase anaesthetic risk beyond acceptable levels
  • Cases where clinical assessment does not support a meaningful surgical benefit
  • Dogs younger than 1 year of age and older than 5 years of age (due to significantly increased risks)

If you are unsure whether a patient is suitable, please contact Dr Faheem directly to discuss.
